Taiwan's export value increases for 4 consecutive months

Taiwan's export value increased for four consecutive months as a result of increasing demand, according to the latest statistics from Taiwan's finance department, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

In February, Taiwan's total export value was US$16.7 billion, up by more than 30% year on year, and its total import value was US$16 billion, up 40% year on year.

Trade value between the mainland and Taiwan was US$10.25 billion in January, up 103% year on year. The mainland¡¯s exports to Taiwan were US$2.09 billion, up 85.5% year on year, and the mainland¡¯s imports to Taiwan doubled year on year to US$8.16 billion.

The mainland was still the biggest market for Taiwan's exports. Trade with mainland China increased by a wide margin. Trade in electronic products, optical equipment and chemicals increased greatly.
