Exports likely stronger this year: MOC
2010-03-09 14:07:06

China's exports should be stronger this year than last year as a result of international economic recovery, according to Minister of Commerce Chen Deming.

In January, national trade value increased by 32.4% year on year but decreased 3.4% month on month. Export value was up 14.4%, and import value was up 61.5%, according to statistics recently released by China's General Administration of Customs.

Chen also said that although the RMB faces appreciation pressure, China still plans to keep the exchange rate of RMB stable.

He also added that this year China will continue overseas purchasing from major trade partners and that procurement items will be decided in accordance with specific business needs.
